It depends on your style. I like ironic pet names.

you could go for something like “arf” or “yap” or “arfur” (play on arthur)

My ex called his pomaranian “pommie”

    not very original though …

I would go for “yips” or “soldier”

Congrats on your new fur baby! And thank you for adopting from a shelter. We usually take in to consieration things like personality, any weird habits, and looks etc.like you have listed in coming up with names for our cats and dogs. We have one cat named Columbus because he likes to explore. Does your dog have any habits like that? Possibly Cupid because he is red and cream. Or what about Goliath (playful name becuase obviously he is small). You could look up all the words in the dictionary that describe his traits you listed, and in some dictionaries their Greek or Latin (or whatever language) original spelling/word derived from is listed. These are all probably lame suggestions, but good luck in naming him and I am sure whatever you call him, he will answer to it. It sounds like you love him a lot. Some different names we have encountered in the course of naming foster animals are: Lancelot and Merlin (a friend of ours is a big “King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table” fan :p), Donatello and Michaelangelo (another lady who does rescues likes Italian names) and my husband and I love Anne Rice books and have named 3 male cats Lestat, Marius, and Louis(based on how the looks/personality of the cat matched the look/personality of the character in the book) Lestat was a white cat with blue eyes who was VERY outgoing and knew he was gorgeous, Marius was a yellow, older tomcat who was wise and mellow. You get the idea. Maybe something like that could help you, like a fave character from a book or movie. Once again, GOOD LUCK

Wonderful that you adopted! So many pets need loving homes, it’s almost like a crime to buy a pup when there are thousands of great dogs needing good homes. I suggest BOW-WOW :-)
